Dollar flat ahead of Trump presser


The dollar was flat Wednesday ahead of a news conference by President-elect Donald Trump.The dollar index was up 0.05% at 102.06. The greenback rose 0.29% to 116.11 yen.Investors will look to any comments by Trump on fiscal stimulus plans.The focus will also be on any elaboration by Trump on calls for trade tariffs.The pound remained weak at the $1.21 mark on "hard Brexit" concerns.BoE governor Mark Carney is due later Wednesday to appear before the U.K. Treasury committee.The euro was steady at the $1.05 level.
